Dear Dr. Ford,
I don’t know if you will ever read this, but release this into the world with kind intentions.
Today I listened to a talk that inspires this letter. Despite all the free floating anger, fear, and hurt out there searching for the “correct” feeling or action, where is a safe harbor for solace, for rest? Can I trust the heart?

As I was hiking at Foothill Park, wild deer and turkeys came closer than they ever have before. For a few brief moments of silence, safety, kindness and peace were possible.
It took so much courage and trust to share your shadow experience in the present light of today’s political climate. In many ways, these are very dark times. Still, you stepped forward with deep vulnerability, speaking for the violated teenager who’s life would never be the same again.
In my eyes and heart, you are a true heroine. Regardless of the outcome, your voice has spoken for countless beings ashamed and silenced by sexual assault, violence, and abuse of any kind. I measure this victory not by whether Judge Kavanaugh joins the Supreme Court or not, but by the number of beings who can now step forward to reinhabit a body of truth. Despite previous violations, may these bodies heal to wholeness, and feel safe again. May your body and the body of all your relations heal to wholeness, and feel safe again.
With Gratitude and Kindness,
Kaveri
PS. Am also sending kind wishes to the other side. This heart is trying to include all...
